Haven't been so lucky in the past...

Lisa - Thanks for your comment! Definitely personal appeal.

Jenni - Glad you liked it!

Jenna - Interesting you had no feeling of menace. I'm glad - not a nice feeling. I don't think it's because I thought TW was in any way unsafe, I think it was just my whole sensory system being overloaded and feeling so out of place in this world. Symptom of culture shock, perhaps? Anyway, you're totally right, TW is very safe.Kathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16731173186767835989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2015861203212804796.post-76521621781859694122010-12-12T18:17:56.872+08:002010-12-12T18:17:56.872+08:00I have to say that I never had the feeling when I ...I have to say that I never had the feeling when I came here of "menace lurking around every corner" - in fact, quite the opposite. I find it almost amusing that Taiwan could be seen as dangerous in any way. It's by far one of the safest countries I've ever been to. I felt that way once I landed; no menace at all. If anything, so safe that I find myself going a bit soft and under-vigilant...Jenna Lynn Codyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04032277820150000198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2015861203212804796.post-70664909198422287962010-12-03T15:57:10.322+08:002010-12-03T15:57:10.322+08:00I'm almost done reading it (thanks for the loa...I'm almost done reading it (thanks for the loan) and have to say I agree with everything you've written. It is well written and is describing a Taiwan I don't know very well. My experience here in Taipei (living well on a non-teacher salary) is very different from what she is experiencing. I do like it very much except for the part you mentioned dragging on and on.JenniRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08877982945548746099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2015861203212804796.post-51842479887540206322010-11-24T11:48:50.266+08:002010-11-24T11:48:50.266+08:00Sounds interesting. I've been afraid to do that ever since one of the most horrible reading experiences of my life.brizmushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18163313230550265190noreply@blogger.com
